Company Background

Our client is one of Australia’s leading professional services firms within their specialty field, with a strong footprint across the APAC region. Due to a period of leave, they are seeking an ambitious and energetic Assistant Accountant to join their team on a longer-term temporary basis.

The Role

As the Assistant Accountant you will work closely with the Finance Manager, focusing on:

• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Journal preparation for month-end
• Preparing FBT and payroll tax
• Month-end expenses and variance analysis
• Assist with budget preparation
• Assist with new system implementation as required
• Adhoc reporting as required

Your Background

To be considered for this Assistant Accountant role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

• Immediate availability (will consider 1 week notice)
• Degree qualified as a minimum, ideally with a CPA/CA in progress
• Intermediate Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables)
• Prior experience with month-end preparation
• Experience working within a medium corporate business is ideal
• Multi-currency and FBT preparation experience are preferred but not essential
