The Role
As the Assistant Accountant / Accountant – Funds, you will work as part of a talented team and interact with colleagues based both in Sydney and overseas.
Your initial role will provide you with excellent structure. Depending on your background (see below), full training can be provided to ensure you are equipped to take on the following tasks:
- Review quarterly capital calls and distributions to underlying investors for each asset
- Review of quarterly management fee and commitment fee files
- Review of quarterly financial statements and investor reporting across each investment structure
- Review quarterly Incentive Compensation models for each asset
- Assist in the preparation of capital events
- Coordinate with the auditors on semi-annual basis for financial statement audits
- Coordinate with the Trustee of each entity as needed
- Understand the quarterly expense allocation process across each asset and each underlying investor
- Coordinate with and direct the various fund administrators
- Prepare cash movements and assist in managing the treasury function
- Prepare quarterly performance calculations
- Understanding fund and deal structures
- Ad hoc requests
Your Background
As the ideal candidate for this Assistant Accountant / Accountant role, you MUST have an excellent academic track record however you may be from a variety of backgrounds:
- Likely to have between 2-5 years of accounting experience (tax, audit, accounting, funds).
- Have worked in a Big 4 accounting firm or another relatable global business
- Accounting or Finance Degree qualified with solid academic grades (at least credit average)
- Want to work in a high caliber and professional environment
- Desire to learn, grow and work hard to build your career in fund accounting
- Hold permanent working rights (Permanent residency or Australian Citizenship)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
