Credit Team Leader - Manufacturing

The Role

This will be a critical Credit Team Leader role within the business. You will have 3 direct reports and be responsible for ensuring accounts are creditworthy, and work alongside other departments to ensure healthy cash flow whilst minimising debts. You will take charge of system improvements and automations (relevant to your department) by partnering with relevant stakeholders including finance and IT.

Your duties as Credit Team Leader will include but not be limited to: 

  • Mentor and manage a team of 3 Credit/Receivable Officers
  • Review and evaluate applications for account openings, credit limit adjustments, or any other modifications to credit terms, ensuring compliance with the Credit Policy
  • Support the Sales Department in maximising sales by ensuring that customer accounts remain credit-worthy and that credit limits align with the customer's sales needs
  • Continuously monitor the performance of all customer accounts to ensure optimal collections and that all accounts are settled in line with agreed terms
  • Regularly review the credit limits of established accounts to ensure they remain creditworthy and that the limits are sufficient to support ongoing trade
  • Propose system and process changes to the Financial Controller, ensuring that any updates are documented, communicated effectively, and adhered to by employees
  • Generate and assemble different credit reports pertaining to credit applications
  • Continuous innovation and streamlining of systems in place 
  • Ad-hoc reports and duties as required 

Your Background

To be considered for this Credit Team Leader position you will meet most of the following criteria:

  • Proven experience in Credit Control and/or Accounts Receivable. Those who have worked in a similar Team Leader position and/or those who are ambitious and ready to step up into such a role are welcome to apply.  
  • Proven examples of involvement/driving of process and system improvements clearly stated on your CV 
  • An excellent attitude, ability and willingness to challenge the status quo
  • Strong stakeholder management skills coupled with great written and verbal communication abilities.
