Finance Manager - FMCG

The Role

This role manages the operational accounting team. Tasks will include:

  • Staff management of the operational finance team. This is a relatively lean team, so the expectation is for someone happy to be ‘hands-on’.
  • Responsible for compliance and regulatory requirements including SOX audit and US GAAP.
  • Preparation and thorough review of management reports including P&L statement, cashflow forecasting, and balance sheet.
  • Working closely with the leadership team and business unit managers. Setting revenue targets and resource planning to coordinate the annual budget.
  • Monthly forecasts, variance analysis and commentary.
  • Statutory reporting in accordance with all relevant AASB & IFRS standards.
  • Managing working capital.
  • Assist with the management of group treasury function to ensure that liquidity and foreign currency risk are managed. 
  • Maintaining the cost standards, maintaining master data, analysing production costs, and inventory management.
  •  Working with external tax advisors, preparing documentation for the Company’s Annual tax return.

Your Background

This is a key role to the successful management of the Australian business. The CFO is looking for candidates with the following backgrounds:

Essential Criteria/non-negotiables:

  • CA or CPA fully qualified.
  • Strong FMCG, Pharmaceutical or similar industry backgrounds.      Comprehensive understanding of distribution channels, rebates, supply chain, stock & inventory etc.
  • Staff management experience of at least 3-4 people.
  • US GAAP/SOX reporting experience.
  • Experience working in a smaller finance team, perhaps a USA subsidiary with the ability to still be ‘hands-on’ when it comes to the coordination of month-end reporting.

Desirable criteria

The CFO will look most favourably on candidates who also have:

  • SAP system experience
  • Have trained in a Big4 CA firm, and will also mostly likely be CA qualified.
