Group Reporting Accountant - Property

The Company

Our client has been an established player in Australia’s highly lucrative property market within the Retail and Commercial space. They act as a leading integrated property business with a number of service offerings including Development, Project Management, Asset Management and Property Management. Headquartered in the heart of the CBD in offices with stunning 360degree views, this business is well-poised to further consolidate their position as one of Australia’s leading property companies.

Our client offers one a day a week WFH. 

The Role 

Reporting to the Group Reporting Manager and acting as both their 2ic and go-to person for technical support, and within a wider finance team of 20, this Group Reporting Accountant role will assist with the consolidated and statutory reporting and the group tax obligations. More specifically the role will:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements for the consolidated group and all subsidiary companies
  • Ensuring overall integrity, accuracy and reliability of all financial reporting and compliance with appropriate company policies and accounting standards
  • Assist management in planning and co-ordinating the year-end cycle
  • Assist management in planning and co-ordinating the annual external audit
  • Assist in the timely and accurate preparation of group income tax returns in line with statutory requirements
  • Assist in the forecasting of the Group’s income tax position with early identification of risks and issues on a timely basis along with proposed solutions
  • Ensuring all tax reporting and payment obligations are completed in accordance with appropriate jurisdiction legislation and deadlines - Income tax & FBT
  • Ensure debt and interest expenses are accounted for accurately in the group accounts
  • Compliance reporting to financial institutions prepared accurately and within internal and external deadlines
  • Preparation of reports for the quarterly Treasury Meeting within internal timeframes
  • Manage and monitor all external debt facilities, identifying risks early and reporting to senior management

Your Background

To be considered for this Group Reporting Accountant position there are a few considerations: 

  • Experience in a Group Function with exposure to both consolidated reporting and income tax (not essential, but preferred)
  • CA / CPA qualified
  • Experience with MS Dynamics would be superb too
  • The client would consider first-time movers from chartered
  • Property experience would be also an advantage
