You would be joining a newly created team who are all high-performers and motivated to make this a finance function that exceeds expectations. The Payroll Manager would be key in providing transparency & analysis around the labour costs and challenges to support the wider team.

The Role
This Payroll Manager role will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for the following tasks:
- Administration of the fortnightly payroll processing and payments, ensuring the accuracy and timely manner including posting of leave applications and timesheet submissions.
- Prepare accurate and timely payroll-related reconciliations, actual to budget variance analysis, FTE data, audit logs and KPI reports for review by the Financial Controller, increasing transparency and facilitating effective decision-making at the Executive Level.
- Ensure the payroll system accurately reflects different employee contracts and enterprise and workplace agreements.
- Stay up to date with legislative changes and drive process improvement to enhance efficiencies and internal controls in relation to payroll data.
- Provide inputs into third-party reporting obligations, including census and annual reports.
- Providing advice to managers and employees on a range of industrial matters, including interpretation of the Agreement, determining pay levels, entitlements, etc.
- Accurately prepare and calculate termination payments.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of PAYG & superannuation guarantee liabilities.
- Manage year-end reconciliations and audit queries.
- Ensure payroll-related balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis
Your Background
We are looking for experienced Payroll Managers who can add value to this function and will have/be:
- 10+ years of payroll experience
- Strong tenure on the resume with good periods of loyalty in roles.
- Examples of your analytical and core accounting knowledge are on the resume. Labour cost analysis, reports to support decision-making, automation projects and other value-added achievements.
Exceptional communication, both written and verbal. This is fundamental to the success of your application.
