Company Background

Our client is one of Australia’s best-known specialist tertiary education organisations and has been operating for nearly 50 years both locally and internationally. Sitting within a Finance team of 12 and reporting to the CFO, the role will have multiple touchpoints throughout the originations in particular with HR.

The Role

This Payroll Manager position offers an opportunity to lead a critical payroll function within a respected educational institution.

Reporting to a dedicated CFO, your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Overseeing end-to-end payroll processing for Australia and the UK on a fortnightly and monthly basis
• Managing Single Touch Payroll and third-party salary packages
• Providing prompt resolution of payroll queries across Australian, NZ, and UK payrolls
• Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, including payroll tax, PAYG, and workers' compensation
• Maintaining the ADP payroll system and supporting month-end financial reporting

Your Background

To be considered for this Payroll Manager role, you will ideally have:

• Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Officer
• Strong understanding of Australian payroll, with exposure to NZ and UK payrolls a plus
• Proficiency in managing end-to-end payroll, including third-party salary packaging
• Experience with ADP or similar payroll and general ledger systems
• High attention to detail and a commitment to compliance and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills to effectively support stakeholders and resolve payroll queries
