Production Accountant - Media

Company Background

Our client has a fantastic reputation as one of the best storytellers in the business. The industry is small, so we are looking for someone eager to move into a values-driven, purposeful organisation.

They have won awards both nationally and internationally for some of their beautifully crafted stories about people & the environment. Perhaps you are working in another media business now, but have been looking to apply your production accounting skills to something a little more meaningful.

They have a great leadership team who are commercially savvy and professional, but their door will always be open for advice & mentoring.

It's important this hire is the right fit for the team, so they are open to either a full-time hire, or if you are looking for 2, 3 or 4 days to fit around your personal situation they can accommodate.

Ideally, they do want you in the offices on the days that you are working, with a common sense approach if you do need to work from home sometimes.

The Role

You will focus on factual drama but otherwise a typical production accounting role which will include a broad range of tasks including:

  • Completion/Coordination of all cost reporting, including running regular cost report meetings with the Head of Production and Finance Manager
  • Completion/Coordination of all Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll processes for all productions
  • Prepare full month-end trial balance for each production to the corporate finance team
  • Assist with production audits
  • Work closely with the Head of Production on all budgets to ensure Award rates and industry allowances and requirements are being met
  • Preparation of weekly & investor drawdown schedules for all productions
  • Management of weekly cash flow requirements for all productions
  • Oversee preparation of rolling cash forecasts working with the Finance Manager
  • Review and support Development cost reporting
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly internal staff and expenses tracker, ensuring that all internal costs are updated and invoiced monthly
