Company Background

One of Australia’s leading renewables businesses backed by one of the world’s largest Infrastructure players, have been significantly expanding its local footprint with multiple acquisitions of solar, wind and battery assets. Their next phase of growth is the construction of new assets. To support their targeted and ambitious growth plans, the Senior Management Team have identified the urgent need for a smart and curious Senior Financial Analyst to support the Delivery team as the Finance team’s representative.  

The Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and partnering with the Delivery and Development team, this role will initially lay the budgeting and reporting framework for their transition to construction. Building strong, productive relationships with the Development and Delivery team will be critical to this role's success. 

More specifically the role will:

  • Partner with the Development & Delivery teams to understand project drivers and translate complex data into meaningful insights 
  • Lead financial reporting cycles, including month-end, lender reporting and other compliance-driven submissions, engaging stakeholders to assess performance
  • Build strong relationships with both finance and non-finance professionals across the business to enhance collaboration
  • Act as the trusted finance representative within the Development & Delivery teams
  • Support the Commercial team in procuring major contracts by assisting with the development and review of pricing schedules
  • Develop and implement reporting tools and templates to capture project financials and track key metrics such as costs and project liquidity 
  • Establish financial governance frameworks, financial performance management and reporting structures within the Development & Delivery teams
  • Ensure financial processes comply with internal policies 

Your Background

To be considered for the role, our client is targeting a candidate who is genuinely excited to establish themselves in a newly created Senior Financial Analyst role. Best placed to make this role successful our client is considering two options:

  • Experience in a Project or Analyst role with a strong understanding of project accounting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Exposure to heavy CAPEX environments such as utilities, engineering, mining or construction
  • First-time mover Chartered Audit
  • CA / CPA qualified (or equivalent) 
  • Importantly, they will have a curious mindset and will be genuinely excited about the opportunity to establish, and then build out the project finance function.
