Senior Payroll Officer - Healthcare

Company Background

Our client has been a staple in the aged & hospital care industry for over 100 years. They have a fantastic reputation in the market and a great professional team.

This role supports the Finance Manager and wider team. You would also be business partnering with the unit managers assisting them to work through their numbers. 

The organisation has been through some exciting digital and system transformation projects which means the payroll has been automated & streamlined!

The Role

The Senior Payroll Officer is responsible for 

  • Responsible for managing all facets of payroll; checking payroll, timesheets and pay adjustments, calculating/approving termination; ensuring staff are paid in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with all relevant Enterprise Agreements/Awards; and distributing payroll reports and payslips to the department managers
  • Reconciliation of payroll reports and leave entitlements
  • Processing Salary Sacrificing arrangements, PAYG and superannuation payments
  • Responsible for addressing payroll enquiries
  • Reconciliation of worker’s compensation paid and reimbursement
  • Supervising a payroll officer
  • Responsible for month-end close procedures (payroll related) and general ledger accounts reconciliation.
  • Assist with payrate updates and analysis as required
  • Work closely with managers and other staff throughout the organisation to ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial reports
  • Provide input into the preparation of year-end accounts, including preparation of audit files and liaison with auditors

Your Background

  • You are a senior-level payroll officer with over 5 years of full-function payroll experience
  • You have experience interpreting awards & enterprise agreements
  • You can start in Mid-late January 2025
  • You have excellent communication skills
